 Our Introduction to Bruny Island in January 2007

       was both full and Humorous.

   We’d love to share our adventures on Bruny with you

     They have already given us much joy and amusement.

       I hope you find them as entertaining as we have.

        We are newcomers to the Island life but have found it

         to be interesting and welcoming. I never thought of

            putting my thoughts into words until inspired by the success

            of a young author in the throws of a French Encounter of

             the Culinary kind!  While I could never aspire to her heights

            of success, I am doing this as much for myself, as to

             hopefully entertain a few of you along the way.

              A friend ( newly made ) on the Island, said to me it was a

              pleasure to read an article in which the author was making

              fun of and laughing at themself! It is a rare thing to laugh at

              ones own mishaps, but it is something Bernie and I share

              in that we (nearly ) always see the funny side of all the

              twists and turns our lives have taken and the mistakes and

                  mayhem created on our way!!!!

About Us

We bought our house on Bruny Island in 2005 with a view to having a sea-change retirement. We had only been to The Island (Our Deam Island, Aislin Innis) a few times but fell in love with it very quickly. The pace of life and the friendly locals all made us feel very much at home.
So we decided to make the move sooner and Bernards ever active mind created a great future for us. We started with Alonnah Paddleboats and Kayaks which we set up from scratch. It is lovely on the water and a great way for us to meet new people.
Now we are on the Island permanently and have opened our home to accommodation .We have left family and friends in Sydney, but are confident they will come to enjoy Bruny Island as much as we do and will visit us whenever possible. Family from overseas have already paid us a few visits and we know they will be back. We look forward to welcoming you soon!
